Loosely translated, the name Vasiliki is equivalent to 'Sylvia', the name by which Vasiliki was known before she resumed her given Greek name. It says a lot about pre multicultural Australia that her then very young mother felt there was a need to choose a name which would make for easier acceptance in everyday Australia. Clearly Vasiliki was destined for a life in multiculturalism! She started by teaching English and History at an inner city Sydney high school and later taught teacher trainees. She moved into multicultural policy making for government, finally running her own training consultancy for the last twenty years. Vasiliki loves her very extended family with all its challenges, tribulations, vicissitudes and happinesses. She takes great joy and delight in people, the arts, reading, writing, cooking and eating! Most of all, she likes to share, so kali orexi, bon appetit, and good eating to you all.
